I am bored. Really. Bored of what? Life. FML man.

I dunno why i am bored too, maybe its becos the once-enjoyment activity of mugging have became a effing pain in my back. Ever since i stepped in the world of IP, studies to me became a boring chore. Damm.

Remember the days when i came home, and look forwarded to mugging. I ACTUALLY LOOKED FORWARDED TO MUGGING! That was when i was in vs la. When i first got exposed to geography and history. Gone were the days. Haizz.

As i look back, i look forward. As history teachers will say: History from a point of view is learning from past mistakes and improving our future decisions and chioces. And i sortta agree. Truth to be told.

Look back at last year. fucked up. This year, okayy la. I be happier for some reason i dunno why too, and have been more active i guess, not like the laid back slacker last year. zzz.

To myself, i failed in many ways. To others, maybe i failed too. But, what am i supposed to do about it now? Stand still and break out wailing like a baby who has lost his mum? No man. I am not a softie. Lols

Life, there are no many paths for me. All roads lead to rome, but there is only one path i could travel on. The mugger way. Lols. Bobian also muz continue trudging on la.

Now, the diversion of paths coming along. Which way will i walk? Wad goal am i working towards? 6 months down, and we come to an end. End of countless happy times in the IP programme, end of all de nonsense we could come out with in our very own classes.

Time for the boring lectures, and tutorials. Lol.

i thought over it for long, and i finally knew what i am giong to do in the future. I may be afraid of heights, but who needs to look down when driving a plane? I may be afraid to die, but why cry for me if i die for the country?

And my parents also inspired me, about the beauty of it. Kudos to people who want to be a doctor too, for example Bryan, Jaime, Lihui, Vivian etc. Apparently according to grace from ip1, my dance junior, mr teo told her 90% of the cohort wants to be doctors when they grow up. I hope this percentage change when we reach careers fair, It can be very scary to think about your chances when the competition is so intense you know. lol

Protest agaisnt change of road name of "Telok Blangah road"

Hey folks out there.
In the lastest plans by the URA, the authorities have decided to change the name of "telok blangah road" to "123 road". However, as a history student of singapore history, i strongly feel that the move will cause a great loss in significance of that particular area and a intergral part of many people's lives. As such, here is a petition to oppose the move and hopefully if enough people support this "protest", the URA will change its decision and save a part of singapore's history from being wiped out. If you are feeling unsure, below are 10 reasons why "telok blangah road" should keep its name. If you are convinced that it should keep its name already. please copy this whole text and post it on your blog or send it to as many people as u can via email. Thank you for your support.

10 reasons why "Telok Blanga Road" should keep its name

1) Historical significance

-With globalisation increasingly rampant, it is increasing harder to instill sense of belonging and nationalism in minds of younger generation.

-Keeping the road name will serve as a area of historical interest for the younger generation to explore.

2) Symbol of popular myth

-Symbol of myth about palembang prince landing off telok blangah beach after throwing crown into sea to prevent ship from sinking in the 13th century.

-Road could be used to teach primary school kids about this myth and how it affect Singapore’s written history

3) Painting by Mr John Turnbull Thomson

-In 1849, Mr John Turnbull Thomson did a painting titled “telloh blangah” when he portrayed his view of telok blanga area from pulau brani.

-This event which gave rise to the name telok blangah should be remembered by having the road name telok blangah remain and not changed.

4) Gutta percha trade in the past

-The area around telok blangah can be remembered the area who flourished and prospered once upon a time under the charge of temmengong Abdul Raman when Raffles put him in charge of the village.

-Indeed, it is hard to find such a monopoly in today’s world and such a situation will be much remembered in people and communities who were part of that era of history

5) Rare road name with double meaning

-Indeed, finding road names with deep and indepth historical significance is already quite a hard thing to do. Yet, the road telok blangah do not have only one meaning, but in TWO, in malay and hokkien languages.
In malay, “telok blangah” means cooking pot bay, which is to remember in the past this area was dominated by southern indians making clay pots by the name of blanga.

-In hokkien, it means Singapore gate, or north west gate, a relation to the rocky cliff nearby just a laboror park which literally is an entrance to singapore although illegally.

6) Important part in modern singapore

-With shopping malls, cinemas, hotels, places of worhships and school all around the close vicinity, telok blangah is a road that many people from all walks of life are already acustomed.

-Changing the road will bring about much confusion and “out-of-placeness”

7) Historical interest to tourists

-With a not-so-city feel but yet within close vicinity of the CBD area, Telok blangah road is surely a place of interest for tourists who want to explore singapore out of the norms of tourist attractions.

-Changing the name to 123 road will cause it to lose its historical meaning and will be depriving tourists of historical experience of singapore.

8) Nostalgia of elderly people

-Telok blangah road has many old estates with elderly people living in it.

-Once happy children in telok blangah district and road, most elderly residents may have interesting experiences and memories they experienced in telok blangah road and the surrounding area.

-By changing the road name, we are depriving them of the nostalgia they will feel whenever they see the road sign.

9) Tradition of telok blangah name given to man-made and natural landmarks

-Many landmarks like CC, hill park, schools and so on are named after telok blangah. By changing the road name, the tradition will be lost and controversies may arise.

10) Aestetic appeal in comparision

-“Telok blangah road” sounds much more unique, authentic and appealing as compared to “123 road”.

Therefore I urge the URA not to change the road name.

Due to popular demand and constantly being question bout OBS, i shall blog about it. HAHA

Day 1: off from technology. We arrrived at Pulau Ubin OBS base camp. Knew our groupings. Boo. Separated from the guys. Was in Raja grp wif Michelle Bernice Shumin Yiying. Found out that OBS gt 3 sku nia. Pj VJ and Bpss. LOL. Did some self intro those usual stuff luh. My grp 6 guys 10 gals. 5 VS 1 cat high. HAHA. Den they asked who scared of heights. 4 guys 0 gals. Funi sia. Ok i am one of the 4.

Then assigned duties to everyone. I was time keeper. Fun sia. Then we packed our backpacks for the expeditions. 3 shirts for 3 days. LOL. Got our rations. Looked so little. But its so much actually. Guys eat less den gals! LOL new thing.

Learn how to belay ppl. Lol stress ar later they fall i fly up how sia. HAHA. Oh den we pitched our tents. Took 30 minutes wif 3 other guys. Slow sia. HAHA. improving later. Dinner we cooked ourselves at the beach using solid fuels all those. I din noe can foods were so damm nice HAHA. Then go pack finish everything den sleep.

Day 2: Woke at 5. Assembly 555. No brush teeth no bathe. Sian. Morning
pt. Why so many VJ kia in front ar? HAHA Went to camp 2 wif all our stuff. Did a high element there. Ok my p oso scard of heights. haha. But den we go 1st. See so enthu. Den learn kayaking basics. Capsize drill. Saving drill. Shack lo. Then pack pack pack to prepare tmr expedition.

Day 3: Sea expedition! 16km kayak around pulau Ubin! gt pass by South China Sea wif big waves sia. Cool right? Bryan was navigator. Nice zig zagging ar. HAHA. Then halfway can eat so i keep eating ovaltine powder and oreo. NICE SIA~. Suppose to reach camp 3 at 5. We reached at 12. LOL.

Then we had to build raft using poles and ropes. Nostalgic sia. Pahang. HAHA. wlao Michelle and Bernice whacked sia. scary seh lol. Den i carry this carry that lol quite tiring sia. Yessar our raft can float ar. Bryan grp de half in water HAHA.

Den we did quarry jump and paddle raft and swim in quarry. Wlao more den 10m deep seh. Eee gt all those mangrove shit. Den we swim in quarry to bathe no use lo. Set tent. sleeping on gravel lol. OUCH. Mass attack of de maggi mee. DELICIOUS when plus sardine hotdogs all those.

Day 4: Woke at 5. Land expedition! walked 8 km wif 10-15 kg bag. No joke. Lol rations were still in huge amount. Maybe we cannot finish lol. Walk walk walk. Passed Ubin Village. Pass a plantation. Help de aunty pluck weeds. Annabell plucked everything HAHA. Oh den me and yan tell sakif to say this to bernice: ni jing tian heng xing gan which means u today very sexy. So he really told while we stood there laughing our ass out.

Then muz stretcher 2 bags like casualty simulator. Bobby! stung by hornet hor lol. Washed ponchos. Dying ponchos are fun lol. Then dinner we whacked. See who build highest mountain.
